A homeless man robbed and slugged a straphanger at the Brooklyn Bridge subway station early Sunday, police said.

Suspect Eric Vasquez, 45, was charged with grand larceny, assault and criminal possession of stolen property in the Manhattan attack around 3:30 a.m. — the latest transit assault in the Big Apple.

Police said his 42-year-old victim was on the subway platform when Vasquez allegedly picked his mobile phone from his pocket.

The victim realized his phone had been stolen and tried to get it back, when Vasquez allegedly slugged him in the face, police said.

Vasquez was arrested at the scene.

The attack was the latest in a recent uptick of transit violence in the city, including an attack on another straphanger shortly before midnight Saturday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
