Cops release second video of thief who took Hasidic Jewish man’s hat

The thief who swiped a traditional fur hat from atop a Hasidic Jewish man’s head last week was captured in a second surveillance clip.

The 27-year-old victim was walking on Wallabout Street and Marcy Avenue in Williamsburg around 6:15 p.m. Friday when the suspect grabbed the hat, known as a shtreimel, from his head, cops said.

New video shows the suspect walking off with the hat, worth about $8,000.

The initial video released by cops over the weekend showed the moment the thief grabbed the shtreimel, which is worn by Hasidic men on Shabbat and during holidays.

The suspect took off and is still at large. He’s described as between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10, around 125 pounds, and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

The NYPD’s hate crime task force is investigating the theft, police said.

Surveillance video of the unidentified male was obtained. It shows him walking in the vicinity of Broadway and Walton Street, in the confines of the 90 Precinct. He is seen carrying the victim's Shtreimel, which was valued at $8,000.
