Construction worker on NYC bridge fell to his death

A construction worker fell to his death while painting on the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The worker was painting something on the bridge around 1:50 p.m. when he plummeted to the ground at South Street and Pike Slip near FDR Drive, according to police.

It wasn’t clear whether or not he was using a safety harness, police said. The bridge’s lower level was closed to traffic, cops said

No further information was immediately available.
