16-year-old charged in fatal NYC shooting: cops

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with allegedly shooting a man in the head in Brooklyn over the weekend, cops said.

Ammaar Ali, 16, was linked to the Saturday evening slaying of Joseph Heredia, 29, during a dispute over drugs — possibly marijuana — in Bushwick around 5:50 p.m. Saturday, authorities said late Monday.

The dispute began inside a building on Stanhope Street near Irving Avenue, cops said.

Heredia was inside when the suspect entered, and the two “engaged in conversation” before walking out, cops said.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, and then seeing people running, according to police.

Heredia was shot in the head and rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

After the incident, Ali fled to his home just blocks from the scene, cops said.
